Recipe: Shortbread
Shortbread
Ingredients:
250mg Vitalite
125mg Sugar
250mg Plain Flour
125mg Cornflour
You can adjust these amounts keeping the ratios the same as you want to make more or less.
1. Rub the butter and flour together to make it like breadcrumbs
2. Add the sugar and cornflour and rub/mash together to make a dough
3. Press the dough into a baking tray to about an inch thick, it doesn't need to be buttered, there's enough in the mixture!
4. Bake for about 30-40 mins. It should be golden on top.
5. Sprinkle with caster sugar as it comes out.
6. Leave to cool completely then cut out of tin.
Always remember to check the labels of all the ingredients listed, they are liable to change and add things in whenever they want!!
This recipe comes from my friend Vix whose granny was scottish. Obviously its been changed to have Vitalite instead of butter! It's a great one to make with your kid because its basically adding all the ingredients together and mashing it with your hands!
